2019 APSA-WorldVeg Vegetable Breeding Consortium Workshop

Around 60 participants from Asia and the Pacific region participated the 2019 APSA-WorldVeg Vegetable Breeding Consortium Workshop in Tainan on 15 – 17 May 2019. The first day of the workshop devoted to technical sessions. The next day was a field trip day; participants had a chance to visit WorldVeg demonstration fields. On the last day, participants visited Known You Co., Ltd. and Tainan District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (DARES). It is the first time that participants of the consortium were invited to visit private and public sectors in Chinese Taipei. There were fruitful discussions on the topics of breeding, disease resistance and global warming management between the participants and local seed industry.   More details about the new varieties, consortium and full coverage from the recent workshop – including quotes, photos, outcomes and insights – will be featured in a report in the upcoming edition of Asian Seed & Planting Material, due for publication in June.
