Dr. C. N. Neeraja is the Principal Scientist in Plant Biotechnology at ICAR-IIRR, Hyderabad, specializing in molecular breeding and biotechnology for rice improvement. Her research emphasizes biofortification, nitrogen use efficiency, and grain filling in rice. She has led key projects such as ICAR’s CRP on Biofortification and the UKRI-funded South Asian Nitrogen Hub. Dr. Neeraja has played a pivotal role in developing several rice varieties, including submergence tolerance, Biofortified and nitrogen use efficient. She is a recipient of the DBT CREST Award and has international exposures in the UK and Germany. Her work significantly contributes to sustainable agriculture and nutritional security.
