Ramachandra (Ram) Kaundinya is an expert in the field of agriculture management. He is an author, strategic management consultant, teacher and a policy analyst in India. He is currently Adviser to Federation of Seed Industry of India.
He worked in the Crop Protection industry for 22 years and with Seed industry for the last 24 years. The positions he held included Managing Director of Cyanamid Agro and Global CEO of Advanta Seeds.
He served on the Independent Steering Committee of MAIZE program of CYMMIT. He was a member of the Dr MS Swaminathan Task Force that developed the Agri Biotechnology Strategy for India in 2004. He was a member of the Dr RS Paroda committee that submitted a report on ‘policies and action plans for sustainable and secure agriculture’ to the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Govt of India in 2019. He was a member of the Expert Review Committee of Access to Seeds Index Foundation Amsterdam. He writes regularly in the media on policy matters of agriculture.
Ram Kaundinya co-authored two books with Prof Venugopal Pingali of XLRI, Jamshedpur – ‘Agri Input Marketing in India’ and “Marketing Agri Input for Sustainable Agriculture’.
