He holds a degree in Plant Sciences (Horticulture) from Utah State University, USA. During his time there, he worked with the university’s Extension and Garden Centre, gaining valuable experience in flower and vegetable seed production. In 1997, he joined Indo-American Hybrid Seeds, where he has since contributed to the company’s growth and innovation. His extensive international and national travel has provided him with deep insights into research and seed production practices across diverse regions.
Mr. Arthur Santosh Attavar currently serves as the President of the International Seed Federation (ISF), Nyon , Switzerland. He previously chaired the ISF Task Force for the United Nations Food Systems Summit and has been an active member of the Asia Pacific Seed Association (APSA) Working Group of Integrated Vegetable Seed Companies. He is also associated with the African Seed Trade Association (AFSTA) , several national seed bodies in India and serves on the Research Council of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore.
Beyond his professional roles, Mr. Arthur Santosh Attavar actively supports community initiatives, including a charitable hospital managed by his family trust.
