Bhupen Dubey

Bhupen Dubey is a successful leader and the Global CEO of Advanta Seeds, a UPL group company. His leadership is driven by a strong understanding of farmers’ needs and a passion for sustainable agriculture. Bhupen holds over 30 years of experience in agriculture, supply chain, and food production from companies including Hoechst, Aventis, and Bayer. He has played a vital role in managing and integrating companies within the UPL group, such as Advanta/UPL, Golden Seeds, and Unicorn. He has been driving essential integrations and sustainable growth to the UPL business. Over the last 8 years, as the Global CEO, Bhupen executed his vision for sustainable growth expanding sales and the product portfolio to 30 additional countries, doubling the Company’s revenue.

Under his leadership, Advanta Seeds was ranked the No. 5 global seed company in the Access to Seeds Index in 2019, and No. 2 in the South and South-East Index. Advanta also secured No. 4 in the Africa Access to Seeds Index 2021, for contributing to UN SDGs and food security by World Benchmarking Alliances.

Bhupen is well known for his industry expertise and is an active member of many professional affiliations. He participated in the multi-stakeholder project for the World Economic Forum, Transformational Leadership and Agricultural Development. He is on the NVA Business Council India and Asia, and he is the Chairman of SIG at the Asia and Pacific Seed Association. He has been a speaker and an expert panelist for many conferences for agriculture, sustainability, and innovation including ASIA-PACIFIC AGRI-FOOD INNOVATION SUMMIT, AGRF 2023 and ISF 2023.

Bhupen is accomplished academically. He graduated from Gujarat Agriculture Academy with honors as one of the top students and received the GOLD MEDAL for the best plant protection course work. He also was awarded the Dr. M.S. Swaminathan Scholarship for Academic Excellence in his post graduate studies in Agriculture Science.
