In this month’s APSA Seed Insights, we hear from three individuals during our recent Hybrid Rice and Corn Study Tour to the Philippines, who share their ideas and opinions on seed production, breeding and food security. These include Dr. Jauhar Ali, Hybrid Rice Breeding Lead Principal Scientist at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI); Karen Eloisa T. Barroga, Deputy Executive Director for Development at the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) and Dr. Frisco Malabanan, who wears several hats, including as member of the APSA Executive Committee member, Special Interest Group on Field Crops, Philippine Seed Industry Association (PSIA) and the Philippines Rice Board.
