Johnny is leading Seed Production and Supply Chain with Corteva Agriscience in China, focus on leveraging global seed production technology and adapting to local production environment, to achieve the best seed production model in China, including but not limited to productivity improvement, quality management, capacity planning and reliable supply.

Abstract:

It’s important to integrate global best seed production practices/knowledge with local production environment, which includes small fields and more farmers, more manual activities and dynamic climate challenges, etc. Capability of being successful on seed production, including field production, plant operation, quality system and supply planning are vital to seed business success and eventually to the success of farming and food security.

With significant progress of urbanization within APAC countries and challenges from dynamic climate change, mechanization, water-saving irrigation and digitalization are becoming more and more important to achieve reliable seed supply, smart farming technologies are providing great support to seed growers and the success of seed industry.
