Dr Doreen Thoren
Manager Innovative Seed Technology Service
SaatGut Services GmbH
Profile:
Dr. Doreen Thoren made her PhD. in Agronomy and works in the PETKUS Group since 2011. She is responsible for both seed treatment and cleaning projects within the PETKUS group. She set up the PETKUS seed laboratory and test center to test customer's seeds on various PETKUS machines. Futhermore she supports the development of new machines. Her focus is the development of an alternative seed treatment method without the use of chemicals. Steam treatment turned out to be a very effective means of seed disinfection. Based on that insight she developed the seed treatment system HySeed bio. PETKUS was able to successfully establish and sell HySeed bio on the market, e.g. for the disinfection of sugar beet seeds. In addition to steam treatment coating, encrusting, and pelleting can be performed with the HySeed bio system.
