7th International Agriculture Students Symposium 20 February - 1 March 2023

International Agriculture Students Symposium (IASS) is a biennial international program hosted by Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) since 2009. It provided a great opportunity for students worldwide to gather and exchange their perspectives and ideas on food and agriculture issuesin the world.

In the year of 2023, while the world is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is organizing ‘The 7th International Agriculture Students Symposium (7th IASS)' to provide local and international students from our global partner universities with a physical platform to gather and exchange knowledge related to agriculture and also discuss their roles in food security with the theme as followed:-

"Youth Involvement and Innovation for Food Security"

In the 7th International Agriculture Students Symposium, there are 10 scopes related to the theme, and available for the participants to choose, and they are as below:

  • Aquaculture Production
  • Agriculture Extension Services & Education
  • Pest & Disease Management
  • Plant Breeding & Seed Technology

  • Animal Production

The 7th International Agriculture Students Symposium (7th IASS) has invited up to 100 universities worldwide and targeting 60 international and local participants.

  • 21 February 2023 - Openoing Ceremony & Forum
  • 22 - 24 February 2023 - Symposium Days
  • 24 February 2023 - Cultural Night
  • 25 - 28 February 2023 - Study & Cultural Trip to experience the beauty of Malaysia
  • 28 February 2023 - Closing Ceremony & Gala Nighty
  • 1 March 2023 - Departure

ACTIVITIES AT THE 7TH IASS

SYMPOSIUM (Abstract & Poster Presentations)
Each presenter is allocated 20 minutes to give an oral presentation of their research. An additional 10 minutes will be utilized for a Q&A session. Poster presentations are given 3 minutes to present in front of the judges. For further details, please contact ourliaison.

STUDY & CULTURAL TRIPS
Participants will be exposed to the on-site experience of a Malaysian agricultural production area. This first-hand experience is important for participants to gain a better understanding of the practices done aside from their home country's. After all, experience isthe best teacher.

CULTURAL PERFORMANCE
With so many students from various countries, it is a great opportunity for each of us to showcase our culture to one another. As such, participants are highly encouraged to display their home country's traditional performances.
