Netherlands Prime Minister, Vietnam Agriculture Minister to Preside over HortiFuture Vietnam forum on April 11, 2019
HO CHI MINH CITY: Horticulture, agriculture and seed experts from around the world are set to meet at the HortiFuture Vietnam forum on April 11 to discuss solutions to global agriculture challenges.
HortiFuture is an initiative of the Netherlands Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, GrowAsia (of World Economic Forum), Horti Asia, Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture Vietnam and supported by AGRIFUTURE Conferences.
The event, participation for which is by invitation only, will focus on the fruit and vegetables sector, which organisers have described as “… both dynamic and promising. Not only is domestic consumption robust, but exports are growing rapidly. In 2017, fruit and vegetable exports reached a record $3.5 billion for year-on-year growth of 43% and exceeding the export value of some key export products such as rice, oil and gas. However, despite rapid growth and a positive outlook, there are challenges and weakness that need to be overcome for the sector to capitalize on its potential…”
Following registration in the morning, there will be a networking luncheon before the event is formally inaugurated by Mark Rutte, the Prime-Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, the Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development of Vietnam.
Following their keynote addresses, there will be a pre-conference session featuring an interview with Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, which will be followed with an opportunity for participants to gauge designated experts through an “Ask Me Anything” table format.
