NSTDA Seminar: Opportunities for Thai Seed, Innovation

PATHUM THANI: Thailand's National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, are planning to hold their Annual Conference from 25 to 28 March at the Thailand Science Park, north of Bangkok.  The theme for this year is "Moving Towards Thailand's Future Economy with Science, Technology and Innovation", and the event will feature seminars, lectures and exhibitions showcasing outstanding scientific, innovative and technological developments and research projects. Seed Seminar From 9am to 11.30am on March 26, the NSTDA in collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bangkok will organize a seminar specific to global agricultural technology and opportunities for Thailand as a leading global seed exporter. The seminar will feature three expert lecturers. Dr. Coosje Hoogendoorn (Access to Seeds Index and Royal Tropical Institute, Netherlands) will give a lecture about "The Dutch Seed Sector Diamond" in which she will discuss "an approach facilitating the synergy between the public sector, the private sector, civil society and research." This lecture will be in English. There will also be two lectures given in Thai language: Dr. Sithichoke Tangphatsornruang (Genomics Institute at the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology) will discuss genomics technology for agriculture and supporting the Thai private sector; Mr Seree Panya (Sanyi Sahasingha Seeds Ltd. in China) will speak about strategies for penetrating the Chinese seed market.
