I have 32 years wide-ranging experience as a Civil Servant in various Ministries including Agriculture, Shipping, Higher Education, Labour & Employment, Cabinet Secretariat, Defence and Commerce. I have tried to make noticeable contribution to administration and development, especially in the field of agriculture and seed development. My last assignment was as Chairman & Managing Director, National Seeds Corporation, a Public Sector Undertaking under Government of India where I was credited for its turn around by providing an enabling environment to realise its true potential. I was also actively involved in the International negotiations pertaining to Agriculture Sector where net outcome was in collective nation’s interest.
Worked as Joint Secretary in Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India for more than seven years. I was National focal point for all matters and played major role in formulating National Policy for seed sector. I played major role in notifying new varieties of public and private sector and distribution of all varieties of public sector to state Government and their organisation. Organised Ninth General Body of ITPGRA in September 2022. Worked also as CMD, National Seed Corporation a PSU of Government of India and stream line the marketing and production division and increase the sale of around 100 crores in four months. Also have experience in Agricultural Mechanisation, Phytosanitary matters and. management of pesticides registration across India, monitoring of pests situation across the country along with issuing regular advisory for state governments to adopt respective plant protection measures.
