Mr. Manabu Suzuki joined the UPOV Office on June 1, 2020 as Technical/Regional Officer (Asia). Manabu, a national of Japan, holds a M.S. degree in Agricultural Science. He works with policy makers in the Asian region promoting accession to UPOV and assisting in the implementation of the UPOV system of plant variety protection (PVP).
He is also responsible of technical areas of work in UPOV, including UPOV databases and statistics. For the past 7 years, Manabu has worked in the PVP field of in the public sector, at the national and international levels. His past professional experience includes working for Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) and for the Embassy of Japan in India.
