Here, Kunaporn Phuntunil (APSA Technical Coordination Manager) enquires with Ms Thidakoon about the government's progress, perspective and approach to amending Thailand's Plant Varieties Protection (PVP) act. The PVP office director reveals the government's plans, priorities and response to feedback from breeders about enhancing and extending protections, and touches on aspects of VCU and DUS testing, as well as facilitating investment to enable the kingdom and region to develop into a seed hub through sound and enabling regulatory environment, and sustained access to quality and affordable seeds.
