To help all congress delegates upon their arrival to China, Sanya City has arranged for Volunteers Service Desks to be stationed at key transportation hubs, including Sanya Phoenix International Airport, Haikou Meilan Airport, and Sanya High-speed Railway Station. Sanya City is also offering FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE from Sanya Phoenix International Airport and Sanya High-speed Railway Station from November 29 – December 2.
Sanya Phoenix International Airport is the largest international airport in southern Hainan. It was completed in June 1994, and officially opened to traffic on July 1. About 14 kilometers east of downtown Sanya and 5 kilometers west of The End of the Earth, it is one of largest China's domestic transportation airport. The airport has opened routes to Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macau, Xi'an, Urumqi, Chongqing, Chengdu, Guiyang, Guilin, Harbin, and other places. It is navigable toward 63 domestic and foreign cities.
The area has a tropical wet and dry climate (Köppen Aw),[6] featuring hot weather all year around. Monsoonal influences are strong, with a relatively lengthy wet season and a pronounced dry season. The coolest month is January, with an average high temperature of 26.9 °C (80.4 °F), while the hottest, unlike much of the rest of China, is June, with an average high temperature of 32.5 °C (90.5 °F); the mean annual high temperature is 30.2 °C (86.4 °F). Water temperatures remain above 22 °C (72 °F) year-round.[7]
The Renminbi(RMB) is the official name of China's currency. The principal unit of RMB is called the Chinese Yuan (CNY).
Situated at the southern-most tip of Hainan Island, Sanya lies in the southern valley of the Wuzhi Mountain range. Sanya has a population of about 450,000 and covers an area of about 1,900 sq km, with about 210 km of coastline highlighted by natural beaches, fresh sea breezes and crystal-clear waters. Sanya is located at 18° latitude and 108° longitude and adjoins Tongzha County to the north, Baoting and Lingshui counties to the northeast, and Ledong County to the northwest.
