This program will take the participants to discover the agricultural business of Syngenta Group China, which includes visiting variety bases and platforms operated by Syngenta Group China, and the company’s headquarter in Hainan. The varieties which will be demonstrated range from rice to fruits and vegetables, furthermore, participants will be able to learn Syngenta Group China’s Nanfan progress and some of the advanced technological achievements.

Rice Breeding and Variety Display Base (Baiji Village)

Syngenta Group China’s Rice Breeding and Variety Display Base (Baiji Village) is located in Tianya District, Sanya City, Hainan Province, with a total area of 367 acres. It mainly undertakes the functions of rice breeding and variety display.

  • Poster: Introduction of Sinochem, Syngenta Group and the base varieties.
  • Varieties: Nearly 80 hybrid rice varieties, with multiple varieties having been commercially promoted in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • MAP Sanya Center: The Modern Agriculture Platform (MAP) Sanya Service Center focuses on Nanfan, mango, watermelon, cantaloupe, durian, and other tropical fruits and vegetables, providing comprehensive field services. The center has a gallery showing its full industry chain service model. With the vision of ‘Planting good quality, selling good prices’, MAP work with farmers to promote high-quality agricultural development.

Vegetable Variety Display Center (Yazhou District)

SYNGENTA GROUP CHINA’s Vegetable Variety Display Center shows a wide range of new tropical fruit and vegetable, including watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkin, tomato, and chili pepper, totaling nearly 130 varieties. All of These varieties meet the Asia-Pacific market need.

Syngenta Group Hainan Building (Yazhou District)

Syngenta Group’s Hainan Building was completed at the end of June 2024, with 7 floors at a total area of 11,200 square meters, integrating offices, exhibition halls, laboratories, and training areas.

  • 8th floor Nanfan Base Digital Display Screen: Displaying Syngenta Group China’s business layout in Hainan, including seed research production and display base, Nanfan R&D progress, and MAP centers.
  • 3rd floor Seed Contract Research Organization (CRO) Laboratory: Syngenta Group China’s CRO platform includes genotyping and quality analysis laboratories, with a total area of 1,300 square meters, equipped with more than 450 advanced instruments and equipment, 8 technical teams and 4 operation and management teams. It has the capabilities of high-throughput SNP/SSR and other molecular marker detection, quality analysis, etc., and carries out professional, safe, high-throughput, and digital commercial service models in the form of commissioned contracts, providing comprehensive service solutions for variety research and development, selection, breeding, seed production and other links for more scientific research units and enterprises.
