Organized by the China National Seed Association (CNSA) at the China National Convention Center, the meeting attracted more than 700 key seed industry stakeholders from around the world, including China, the US, India and Indonesia.
The two-day event was organized under the theme, “New era, new mission, new industry, new journey”, and comprised a number of meetings and forums to facilitate productive discussions, presentations and workshops aimed at rejuvenating and reinforcing China’s leading role in the global seed trade.
In addition to this, there was also an exhibition showcasing products and services of 16 key stakeholders, including seven APSA members. Namely, member Syngenta, Winall Hi-tech, Longping Hi-tech, Liaoning Dongya Agricultural Development, Wenzhou Shenlu Seeds, Degao Vegetable Seed and Seedling Research Institute and Shanghai Tiangu Biotechnology
The conference represents the first official national-level seed-industry-focused meeting to complement several well-established, annual regional-focus seed conferences in the world’s most populous country.
These include the Shouguang Seed Expo, Beijing Seed Expo and Guangdong Seed Expo, typically held in April, September and December, respectively.
Full coverage from the 2018 National Seed Conference, including quotes, photos, outcomes and insights, will be featured in a report in the upcoming edition of
Asian Seed & Planting Material, due for publication in April.
