The Asia and Pacific Seed Alliance (APSA), the China National Seed Trade Association (CNSTA), and the College of Agronomy and Biotechnology of China Agricultural University have joined forces to address gaps within the regional seed industry. This collaborative effort was solidified through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during a virtual ceremony held on June 29.

BANGKOK: The 17th National Seed Conference was held 23-24 May 2023 at the Vajiranusorn Building of Kasetsart University’s Bang Khen campus in Bangkok. The conference was organized by by The Seed Association of Thailand (SAT)  in cooperation with a mutlitude of both public and private sector seed and agricultural organizations -- including Asia Pacific Seed Alliance (APSA) and others. 

Strengthening multilateral cooperation to address a number of key challenges of the Asia-Pacific seed sector was the focus of APSA’s annual Seed Association meeting this week.

On April 1st, the 2023 China Seed Conference and Southern Silicon Valley Forum opened in Sanya, Hainan. More than 3000 people from the Chinese seed industry gathered at the event, with the theme of "the Revitalization of China's Seed Industry and the Rise of Southern Silicon Valley." The conference provided a platform for the public and private sectors to discuss cooperation for the revitalization of the Chinese seed industry.

Thailand's newly implemented gene editing regulations have been hailed as a crucial step toward driving innovation in crop development, addressing urgent issues like climate change and food security.
